The SILK Multi Axis Milling Machine is designed to be operated as a portable milling machine suitable for in-situ milling applications. The Bed-way is available in two modular lengths 1.5m (59") and 2m (78-3/4") with, at the time of ordering, the option of machining any of these two lengths together, giving a maximum 4m (157.5") or travel.
Pneumatic or hydraulic motors along with power packs are also available.
The X-Axis has a power fed leadscrew with variable feed rate. The Y and Z axis are manually operated with graduated, detachable handwheels. A 180° swivel head makes the machine versatile for milling from both sides of the bed-way.
Built into the cutter head is a two speed gearbox, variable by adjusting the flow to the motor. It has an upper and lower mounting position, as well as the manual leadscrew feed facility.
Sturdy adjustable taper roller bearings ensure maximum stability during operation. Once positioned this machine is easily set up and levelled, using shims or adjusting screws. Mounting plates can be designed and manufactured to suit your application.
