The SILK ‘Flange Bolt Cutting Machine - FBC 120’ is an externally mounted cold cutting circular saw, designed to provide a fast and safe alternative solution to removing ceased bolts from flanges. It comes with two different sized cutter assemblies giving a modular design to cover a larger range of flange sizes. The lightweight modular design means that the machine can be manually lifted into position and held securely using flexible cargo straps, meaning it can be mounted onto a wide range of diameters and shapes.

The cutting assembly gives a maximum reach of 160mm with the standard blade and is suitable for use on materials ≤1200N/mm2 (cast iron, zinc alloy, inconel) and a surface hardness of 900HV. The direct drive cutter is powered by an 8kW hydraulic motor and the blade is then manually advanced using the removable drive handle. The machine comes with adjustable retractable guards which enable the blade to be fully protected in most applications. The FBC 120 can be set up to cut the studs through the flange gap, or on the flange face through both the stud and nut, and will cut through a 2” diameter stud in around 3 minutes.
